Viña Echeverría remains a family-owned estate having been established in 1930 by the Echeverría family in the Valle de Maule in Central Southern Chile. The Maule Valley is usually warm and dry but enjoys a high diurnal range (by that high: low daily temperature range), which allows the vines to rest at night, and over time assists in enhancing the quality of the juice.
Grape variety:
Made from 100% Cabernet Franc, the grapes were pressed, and the juice and skins were left in cold contact for 8 hours to extract both the delicate pink colour and enhance the aromatic qualities of the wine. Fermented in stainless steel at 13-18°C with inoculated yeasts, the finished wine was left in tank on fine lees for 6 weeks prior to bottling.
Maturity potential:
Serve chilled, this has a little more colour and body than say your average Provence Rosé, and with more extravagant soft red fruits character. Ready for drinking now and over the next year to 18 months whilst at its fresh and vibrant best.
