‘The Josef Ehmoser winery is located in Tiefenthal in the community of Grossweikersdorf, 30 kilometres east of Krems and 45 kilometres west of Vienna. They are in the wine growing sub-region of Wagram. The vineyards are located in Tiefenthal on the left bank of the Danube, somewhat removed from the river, between Grafenegg in the west and Heldenberg in the east.’
The estate is now run by Josef and Martina, the third generation of the Ehmoser family to do so.

Grape variety:
Grüner Veltliner, vilified in stainless steel – the emphasis is on retaining freshness and purity of fruit.

The Bottle Shop rating:
Fresh, zesty, lemony style of Grüner (some examples can be rich, almost Chardonnay-like). The classic tasting note is white pepper – and there’s certainly more than a hint of that here.
