Based in the Alavesa district Izadi are one of the most progressive modern producers in Rioja today. Founded in 1987 by Gonzalo Antón the estate is now run by his son Lalo. They own 178 hectares – the Selección Blanco comes from a blend of 4 different parcel sites – all planted in 1960 and grown at altitude (650-750 metres) and run to organic practices.
Grape variety:
The main grape in the blend is Viura (60%) then with an almost equal mix of Garnacha Blanco, Maturana, Tempranillo Blanco, Turruntés, and Malvasia.

This wine is ready to drink now but can be kept and enjoyed over the next 5 years when it should develop more nutty tones. Serve chilled but not too cold.
