Area:
Domaine Thomas Labille was founded in 1987 with an 11 hectare parcel which has subsequently grown. By 2019 significant investment in both the vineyards and new winery had resulted in an elevation in quality and style but above all typicity to the classic Chablis style.
Grape variety:
100% Chardonnay, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel with inoculated yeast. The wine was then aged on lees for around 7 months.
Vintage:
After the extensive frost damaged vintage of 2021, 2022 thankfully returned to a much more even – and at stages very hot – vintage. It is testament to the Domaine’s vineyard quality and practices that they made such a delicate and refreshing style – still only 12.5% abv despite the heat.
Maturity potential:
This wine is ready to drink now but can be kept and enjoyed over the next 3 years. Bone dry, crisp, and refreshing with a citrus twist and hallmark chalky notes.
