‘The Liberator’ is a project by English MW (and renowned expert in South Africa) Richard Kelley who ‘liberates’ small parcels of wines languishing in the cellars of smart wineries, and sells them at very sensible prices. This one is from De Morgenzon’s estate in the Bottelary Hills in Stellenbosch, made from young vines.
The Bottle Shop rating:
Richard’s aim is Crozes Hermitage rather than Barossa Shiraz – this is a juicy but serious example of ‘francophile’ Syrah.
