100% Riesling, fermented cool in steel tanks and bottled young to capture the vibrancy and freshness of this classic cool-climate style.
Producer:
Weingut Köster-Wolf are based in Albig, just east of the Rhine. Oppenheim is the nearest town of vinous significance. Claus and Barbel Wolf are the third generation of the family to manage the estate. This wine comes from the village of Flonheim and specifically the vineyard Rothenpfad.
The Bottle Shop rating:
We seem to have forgotten completely the joys of an off-dry Riesling – simply because it went out of fashion 30 years ago. The combination of light body, very fresh acidity and a touch of sweetness makes for a lovely, easy, refreshing aperitif or any-time-of-the-day-just-for-the-sake-of-it white.
