Clos de la Roche is a Grand Cru vineyard within the Morey-St-Denis appellation. Perhaps because Morey is a much lesser known village compared to its neighbours, Clos de la Roche is a relatively under-valued Grand Cru.
However Domaine Ponsot is something of a ‘cult’ producer so their wines are incredibly sought after and consequently highly priced, particularly if one can find rare, mature examples like this.
