Working to organic principles, the wine is a blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc.

Château Macquin was established in 1885 and today is run by descendant Denis and his wife Chistine Corre-Macquin.
Vintage:
2020 is a fabulous vintage in Bordeaux with a warm summer following a cool spring but with some of the widest diurnal ranges recorded (ie high: low day: night temperatures) which helped promote ripeness but also retention of high levels of acidity. Fermentation in stainless steel then a third of which was transferred to age in French oak (25% new) for 12 months whilst rest was kept in tank before each component part was blended.
Maturity potential:
This open and expressive and can be enjoyed now with some aeration prior to serving, but equally will age well and develop over the next 5 years.
